Reports suggest that Lionel Messi has been offered a lucrative two-year deal by Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, worth €700 million, comprising an astonishing €363 million per year. The club is rivals with Cristiano Ronaldo’s current team, Al Nassr. While Messi has been linked with a return to former club Barcelona, they may not be able to match Al-Hilal’s financial offer. Messi is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer. Despite his recent suspension by PSG for travelling to Saudi Arabia instead of attending training, Messi has had a stellar season, scoring 20 goals and assisting 19. He also won the Golden Ball at the 2022 World Cup, leading Argentina to victory in the tournament. Messi’s former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have also been linked with moves to Al-Hilal, with both players offered contracts by the club.
