Arsenal is reportedly targeting Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby and Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guehi this summer, in addition to their pursuit of Declan Rice. Rice remains the Gunners’ top target, but the club is preparing for its first Champions League campaign since 2016/17 and will likely bring in several new players to strengthen the squad. However, Arsenal could face a hefty price tag of over €200m to secure all three players, with Rice alone potentially costing them over €115m (£100m).
According to Metro, Arsenal is so determined to sign Rice that they will not work on any other transfer until they have secured the 24-year-old midfielder, who has one year left on his West Ham contract. Nonetheless, Guehi and Diaby are reportedly high on Arsenal’s list of priorities as they seek to add depth to the squad. The Gunners’ lack of depth in certain areas has arguably cost them the Premier League title, particularly in defense, where the absence of William Saliba due to injury coincided with a significant drop in form for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Is Guehi going to be a Gunner?
There is no definitive answer on whether Marc Guehi will become an Arsenal player, but according to reports, he remains high on Arsenal’s list of priorities. Guehi has made a big impact since joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea last summer, and he occasionally captained the Eagles. He would represent a significant upgrade on Rob Holding, who has struggled while filling in for the injured William Saliba. Despite a buy-back clause in Guehi’s contract, Chelsea seems unlikely to re-sign the 22-year-old England international, who Palace values at approximately €51m (£45m).
Regarding Moussa Diaby, Bayer Leverkusen is thought to be reluctant to let the 23-year-old France international leave, considering he is their top scorer with 14 goals this season. However, an offer of around €50m may be enough to tempt the German club. It remains to be seen if Arsenal will be successful in their pursuit of both Guehi and Diaby or whether they will prioritize other targets for the upcoming transfer window.
