My 600-lb Life alum David Nelson has embarked on an incredible journey with Dr. Now. Featured in Season 10, David weighed 763 lbs, and like many other patients on the show, he had endured traumatic experiences since childhood. Neglected and abused while in the foster care system, he never had the opportunity to develop normal eating habits.

As a result, David turned to overeating whenever he had the chance. By middle school, he already weighed 250 lbs, and his lifestyle was far from healthy. However, he found the determination to turn his life around, leading to a remarkable transformation. Let’s delve into his weight loss journey.

David wasted no time in following Dr. Now’s weight loss program. Although he initially struggled and gained 38 pounds, the My 600-lb Life alum didn’t give up. Eventually, he successfully shed 155 lbs. Unfortunately, his weight still didn’t qualify him for bariatric surgery. Nevertheless, he remained committed to achieving his physical goals and continued to engage with fans after his episode aired. His social media posts indicate that he is still dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. At the end of his episode, he weighed 608 lbs.

Today, David looks unrecognizable. In August, he revealed that he weighed 495 lbs and expressed gratitude for the support he has received, as well as the assistance from the show. His progress has inspired many, and in October, he shared a photo showcasing his slimmer facial features, receiving positive comments from fans. It’s evident that David’s hard work is paying off.

While David didn’t undergo bariatric surgery during his time on the show, he set up a fundraiser in March to help fix a van he plans to use for travel to California, where he intends to have the surgery. In July, after relocating to Texas, he sought additional financial assistance. It remains unknown whether David has undergone the operation, but it’s clear that he is determined to reach his goals. His Instagram bio reflects his pursuit of reaching 250 lbs and emphasizes the importance of taking care of his mental health.
