In Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé, Kobe and Emily have been preparing for their Cameroonian wedding. They have brought their children and Emily’s parents to Kobe’s native country. The couple was already married and living a happy life in the US, but Kobe’s father wanted his son to receive blessings from his ancestors through a traditional Cameroonian ceremony.

However, tensions arise between Emily, Kobe, and their friends before the wedding. The friends had certain expectations of the American star, hoping she would conform to traditional gender roles. Kobe has been trying to mediate between his friends and his wife, attempting to ease the conflicts. Eventually, he decides to disinvite his friends from the wedding to stand up for his wife’s respect.

Kobe and Emily, stars of 90 Day Fiancé, have been each other’s pillars of support since their marriage. For the first time in years, Kobe takes his wife and children to his native country. However, his friends are skeptical of his choice. Recently, he invites his friends to a nightclub to help them connect better with Emily.

Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worse when his friends begin to gang up against his wife. They repeatedly interrupt Emily during conversations, leading her to storm off from the club. Kobe makes every effort to defuse the situation, asking his friends not to escalate matters. He asserts, “This is my wife; we already have two kids,” and urges them to reconcile.

He also tries to convince Emily to give his friends another chance, assuring her that he will always support her. However, tensions rise again when Kobe’s friend Valery advises Emily to remain silent when a man speaks. Emily expresses her belief that she will never be good enough for his friends.

Finally, Kobe defends his wife’s honor and tells his friends that they shouldn’t attend their wedding if they doubt the strength of their relationship. He confides to the cameras, “I don’t want to be put in a position where I have to choose between my friends and my wife, but that was really bad.” Nevertheless, the South African star remains hopeful that time will heal the rift, as both his friends and his wife play significant roles in his life.
