90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Violet Tuyet has a painful past that she finds hard to forget. Riley Diego from Pennsylvania had a tragic backstory himself. He had been betrayed by his partners and struggled with trust because of his unsuccessful relationships. He then met Violet from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on a dating app. Riley could never get himself to say “I love you” to Violet, and she somehow understood it. But Riley had always been suspicious about Violet. While their in-person meeting was messy thanks to Riley’s nature, when Violet told him she was pregnant, Riley wanted a DNA test.
Violet was first introduced in episode 3. She revealed she was a primary school teacher and taught math for a living. Violet loved her job because she loves children. Violet was married for 15 years and had two daughters. She never felt like her ex-husband supported her emotionally or tried to help her financially to raise their kids. Violet divorced her ex-husband to become the independent, strong woman she is today. Violet realized Vietnamese men are patriarchal, so she sought to date other men who would not force her to live life his way.
Violet’s Mother-In-Law Forced Her To Have A Son
In 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 6, episode 3, Violet revealed the real reason why the relationship between her and her ex-husband did not last. Violet was upset and felt terrible because she was disrespected by Riley and his friend, Tiffanie. She was asked questions she was not comfortable being asked. Tiffanie had used an interrogative tone in her voice, which reminded Violet of her mother-in-law. Violet’s ex-mother-in-law was conservative. She’d told Violet she wanted her to give birth to a boy. However, Violet gave birth to a second baby girl whom she named Bao. “She said she wants a boy, she doesn’t need 10 girls,” Violet said.
Violet’s Ex-Husband Failed To Protect Her
Violet confessed how her ex-husband didn’t raise his voice to protect her. Violet wanted her ex-husband to protect her from her ex-mother-in-law’s attack. Since then, Violet never forgot the day when her ex-husband was incapable of taking her side. “I will never forget that for the rest of my life,” Violet said about Riley repeating the same mistake. While Tiffanie impolitely interrogated her, Riley did not support his girlfriend. She expected 90 Day Fiancé star Riley to stop Tiffanie from asking the questions. Instead, Riley forced her to answer them.
Riley Doubting Her Pregnancy Has Violet Feeling Shattered

When Violet told Riley she was pregnant, he accused her of doing it because she wanted to get married.
